FameLab, the talent show for young scientists, who study or work in the world of scientific, medical, engineering or humanistic research at public or private research institutions, will stop in Pisa on 19 May. Registrations open

FameLab will stop in Pisa on May 19, when young scientists will be able to participate in the pre-selections at the Scuola Normale Superiore and in the subsequent selection at the EGO European Gravitational Observatory.

FameLab is the talent show aimed at young researchers under the age of 35 who study or work in the world of scientific, medical, engineering or humanistic research at public or private research institutions and who want to get involved in telling science in an exciting way and engaging.

The pre-selection is scheduled for the morning, at the Scuola Normale Superiore, when the candidates will have to talk about a scientific topic in 3 minutes, in front of a jury made up of experts in the scientific sectors and in the field of communication.

The 10 best candidates will then bring a second theme in 3 minutes to the final, which will be held in the afternoon at the European Gravitational Observatory in Cascina and for which the jury of experts will be joined by a popular jury made up of Tuscan high school students.

The 2 winners will participate in the FameLab Italia Masterclass, a training workshop in science communication and public speaking in Perugia from 9 to 11 June, in preparation for Bright Night 2023, Researchers' Night, scheduled for 30 September.

There is also a cash prize of 1,500 euros which will be paid to the national winner.

To participate in the selection, it is necessary to complete the registration form by Thursday 4 May

The winner of FameLab Italia 2023 will participate in the very final FameLab International which will take place online on November 24, 2023.
